Overtime Sports announces first time campaign

The Conference USA Championship baseball tournament will be hitting Biloxi in late May. A Coast-wide fundraising campaign benefiting the tournament and local high schools was announced this afternoon.
Organizers say the Conference USA baseball tournament is the largest sporting event ever to be held on the Gulf Coast. Overtime Sports Owner Tim Bennett said, “Now, we’re getting tickets out early and into the hands of the community and we’re asking everyone to make just one game.”
The Keesler Federal ‘one game’ campaign is an opportunity for high school baseball teams to earn money and to help fill more seats at MGM Park in Biloxi for the big tournament. Overtime Sports announced the first time initiative during a press conference in front of high school baseball coaches from all over the Coast. “Last year we had ‘Champions for Charities.’ We’ll have that again this year as well, so we’ll couple and have two charitable contributions that will go toward both places.”
Ball players from teams involved will sell two tickets and get one tournament pass for free. The top sellers get $2,500 for their team and Overtime Sports will donate one thousand dollars to every team that signs up. The sales made from the campaign will also benefit the City of Biloxi and Conference USA as the championship tournament makes it second year appearance at MGM Park on May 23rd. Gulfport High School Head Baseball Coach Jamie McMahon said, “Having that many teams with that quality of players come in and play, it is fun and I try to get our players to watch just to see the different level of baseball.”
