Over 3,000 local children had fun at the Boo Bash in Gulfport this weekend
The Gulfport Sportsplex was transformed into a Halloween-town over the weekend for kids and families to get into the spooky spirit.
Over 3,000 children and parents attended the city’s annual Boo Bash. Kids played at a variety of game stations and took pictures with different photo props all through the day. Refreshments and food were also given out, along with trick-or-treating and a dance floor.
To top it off, sixteen local organizations and dozens of volunteers put in time to bring kids some Halloween joy. Gulfport Special Events Manager Brittaney Dyess said, “So, I mean, it makes us feel good because we can give back to them and they are out here with just their families. It’s free to come to it and just have a good time and they get all these goodies and then they get to eat it. I wish I can eat all the candy like they do, but just the time for them to spend with their families and enjoy and not think about the stresses of life.”
This is the 11th year the city has put on the Boo Bash event. Organizers say every year it gets bigger and better.
