Out-of-state officer arrested in Florida on Harrison County kidnapping charges

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- An out of state, off duty police officer has been charged with kidnapping in Harrison County.

Harrison County Sheriff’s Office received a call to Audubon Lake Boulevard for shots fired at a house party.

The homeowner’s dog was shot, witnesses saying a marked Pritchard Police car drove off.

Deputies learned that David Cunningham received a call about the party, handcuffed a person and put them in his car and drove off.

Officials say that no local law enforcement was notified and since Cunningham was out of state, he had no enforcement powers.

Another suspect, Kristen Allen, was charged with hindering prosecution for lying about Cunningham’s actions.

A warrant was issued for Cunningham’s arrest and he was arrested in Orange County, Florida.
