Our sister station WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina mourns the loss of beloved veteran news anchor Donna Gregory.

Donna passed away on Tuesday surrounded by her loved ones after battling stage four lung cancer.

Donna’s journalism career spanned decades where she covered many important events. In February, 2019, she came out of semi-retirement to fill in for Anchor Randy Aldrige at WWAY as he also battled cancer.

In a story online, WWAY says: “Donna’s influence extended far beyond the anchor desk. She was a mentor to young journalists, a source of wisdom and encouragement, and a cherished friend to many in our news room.”
