Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Fest kicked off today
The Our Lady of the Gulf Crab Fest is now underway.
The festival runs through Saturday rain or shine on the grounds of the Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
The event started 38 years ago as a fundraiser for the area’s catholic schools and has grown tremendously since then.
The weekend is filled with live entertainment, rides, and plenty of delicious seafood. Volunteer Brian Adam said, “We have a lot of different booths here. I’m over the fried shrimp and fried fish is really good. We also do crawfish pies, onion tanglers, hushpuppies, but every booth has great food.”
Admission to the festival is free. Gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. each day.
