Our Lady Academy wins third volleyball State Championship in a row

The Lady Crescents of Our Lady Academy were looking for their third state championship and 17th title overall as they played against Belmont at AE Wood Coliseum at Mississippi College.

Lady Crescents fell short in the first set, and refused to relive that feeling again.

After fighting tooth and nail each and every set, the Lady Crescents have done it again! The Our Lady Academy volleyball team are your 3A Volleyball State Champions! Here’s what Head Coach Emily Corley and seniors Ava Davis and Kinsley Jane Stegall had to say after hoisting their third State Championship trophy in a row.

“We just settled down and played our game,” said Head Volleyball Coach Emily Corley. “We came out really nervous I guess and kind of let them take the ball a lot at us instead of us hitting the ball at them, so we just said we needed to relax and play our game and that’s what we did. It’s always good to be a part of this long tradition and it’s awesome to be able to add one to it. This is a really great group of girls and they really deserve this. I’m really proud of them.”

“It means the world to me!,” said Senior Libero Kinsley Jean Stegall. “Every single year it gets harder and harder for us and we work harder and harder. This was a hard game for us, but we pulled through. It started off rough, but we just pulled through and it just shows our character.”

It feels amazing! I really can’t describe the feelings that are going through me right now, ” said senior setter Ava Davis. “I give all my glory to God. He brought us all here including me and my teammates and my coach and I just couldn’t be more thankful to be around these girls and to win it one more time with them for my senior year. It’s just incredible!”

Congratulations again to Our Lady Academy!
