Our Lady Academy trio signs to next level
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WXXV) — Three Our Lady Academy seniors put pen to paper on Friday afternoon to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level.
Tilley Newman, Loralai Williford and Ambrie Alderman celebrated these huge milestones with family members, friends and coaches.
Newman signed with the Rhodes College Women’s Golf Team. In her time as a Lady Crescent, she finished as the top medalist in several events, helped lead her team to a pair of state titles and was a 2025 All-Star Golfer.
“Rhodes is a very nice campus and it’s an amazing community, and the coaching staff for golf has just been amazing and they’re so welcoming, and [I’m] just ready to get to work,” Newman said.
Four-time volleyball state champion Williford will be taking her talents to Pearl River Community College. She was named to the 2025 South All-Star Team and was an integral part of the program’s success each year.
“I chose PRCC because my sister went there and I was really encouraged by her, and I have lots of people that I’m friends with there playing all kinds of sports,” Williford said, “And it’s really close to home and I really love it.”
Alderman is heading to the University of Mary in North Dakota to continue her tennis career. She has won multiple individual and team championships, and she still has her senior season in front of her.
“I chose U-Mary because the second I stepped onto campus, it was like I knew I wanted to be here, and especially with the tennis team and everybody there being so welcoming, I just knew deep down that I wanted to go there.” Alderman explained. “It’s a Catholic school, and I’m really wanting to work on my faith and have a place where I can go to be grounded in my faith and people who will be there.”
