Organizations teamed up to offer free legal help clinic in D’Iberville
Mississippi Volunteer Lawyer Project, the Diversity Center, Precious Prodigy Mentoring, and Mississippi Association for Justice came together to host a free legal clinic to help those in the community.
Those that qualified for the services were able to meet one-on-one with an attorney for legal advice and court documents.
Guests were able to get legal advice on foreclosure prevention, family law/ divorce/ wills, and expungement of felonies/misdemeanors. The Diversity Center CEO Dr. Crystal Wingo said, “This event is important because it does allow individuals to that they will have a second opportunity for jobs, they will have an opportunity to start their own businesses, apply for financial aid and most importantly, voting rights.”
Precious Prodigy Mentoring Program Director Irish Reynolds said, “We know that doing things like this and helping people get free legal assistance can able them to get better jobs and get more income so that they can support their families without extra stresses.”
