Operation Southern Hospitality donating to Hurricane Ida relief efforts

The Juke Joint, Equal Steps Veterans Homes, and Crusaders for Veterans came together to help those impacted by Hurricane Ida.

They are accepting non-perishable food items, water, sanitation items, and MREs. Those interested in donating can drop off goods at the Juke Joint starting Wednesday, September 8th from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and at Equal Steps Veterans Homes and Crusaders for Veterans from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

All donations will be delivered on Saturday, September 11th to Galliano and Golden Meadows, Louisiana. Crusaders for Veterans President Kevin Cuttill said, “We know what it is like to be devastated and we know what it takes, you know, human compassion to help one another. That’s all we are calling for. We closed down our fundraiser event because it’s people first. We are helping our veterans and we are doing the humanitarian cause.”

Along with donations, they will also be supplying home cooked red beans and rice meals to the hurricane victims.
