Operation Crackdown arrests 29 people in George County

Nearly a dozen law enforcement agencies from the George County Sheriff’s Office to the FBI arrested 19 people today in what authorities are calling Operation Crackdown.
Operation Crackdown consists of 42 charges that stem from selling methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and prescription opioids such as hydrocodone and oxycodone in the City of Lucedale and George County. Agents are also serving warrants on six individuals for possession of a controlled substance.
Those arrested were transported to the George County Regional Correctional Facility pending their court date before Judge Jessie Underwood in George County.
