Operation BBQ Relief Day of Living

On Saturday, First United Methodist Church in Gulfport hosted ‘Operation BBQ Relief Day of Giving.’

All federal workers and their families were welcome to come and receive a hot meal courtesy of Operation BBQ Relief. Also available to families in need was non-perishable food items and necessities, all donated by members of the Gulf Coast.

Volunteer Ronnie Daniels tells News 25 that he was not surprised by the support as members of the Coast are always willing to help out when needed. “The outpour from the community has just been amazing with these businesses, individuals, they started dropping things off before we told them to drop things off. We were getting calls about them getting flooded with donations here.”

Operation BBQ Relief travels all over the country tending to those affected by natural and other disasters.
