Opening of new International Trade Office in Biloxi
Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson visited the Coast today to announce the opening of a new international trade office on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce will open the office in the Bolton Building in Biloxi.
Enhancing the department international marketing efforts through the promotion of Mississippi’s supplies and goods.
The International Trade Office will conduct trainings for local businesses interested in exploring international markets and will educate agriculture and food business on the marketing and financial opportunities offered through the Southern U.S. Trade Association, a non-profit trade association. Gipson said, “We just now see that things are beginning to get back to normal. So, this is the moment that we want to do some outreach here on the Coast with our local businesses, whatever the products may be. We have the best seafood. We have the best aquaculture, oysters. We have wonderful potential here to promote not only locally which is important but also outside our boarders and promoting and expanding those markets.”
