One person dead following shooting in Gautier on Lima Drive

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gautier Police Department is investigating a shooting on Thursday afternoon that left one person dead.

According to GPD, officers responded to the area of Lima Drive. There, police found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel made attempts to save the victim’s life, but GPD says they died on the scene.

With the help of K-9 units, investigators were able to find a suspect and take them into custody.

The public is asked to avoid the area of Lima Drive while the investigation continues.
