One man dead after vehicle crash on Highway 43

One man is dead this morning after a fatal crash in Pearl River County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol investigated the crash, which occurred on Highway 43 near the weigh scales in Pearl River County, claiming the life of one man at about 5:50 this morning.

Officials say a 40-year-old male of Poplarville was traveling west on Highway 43 in a 1993 Ford F-150 when it crashed head-on with an eastbound 2006 Dodge driven by a 30-year-old male of Bush, Louisiana.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Dodge was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
