One injured in vehicle-train collision in Gulfport

A viewer contacted WXXV News 25 to inform us of a train accident in Gulfport earlier this morning, leaving one person injured.

Police say the person was critically injured. The accident involved a car and a train at Lewis Avenue and Railroad Street.

The accident was cleared and the train was moving as of about noon today.

The motorist was taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to another hospital for further treatment.
