One dead in early morning shooting in Gulfport

Earlier this morning, Gulfport police were at the scene of a shooting where one man died.
After the initial reports of shots being fired, officers blocked off the 1500 block of 20th Street, located off of Thorton Avenue as investigators and K9 units swept the area.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove has confirmed the victim’s identity as 48-year-old Kenny Peters Sr. of Gulfport. An autopsy is set to take place sometime tomorrow.
