One dead, another wounded in early morning shooting in Waveland

Waveland Police have arrested a man in connection with an early Saturday morning shooting.

Police say 22-year-old Robert Sams Jr. of the Kiln has been charged with 1st degree murder and aggravated assault  He was taken to the Hancock County jail. No bond has been set.

Officers were sent to the Circle K on Highway 90 about 1:30 a.m. about a shooting. On scene, they found a man in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to the chest. He was taken to Ochsner Medical Center Hancock, where he died.

Hancock County Coroner identified the victim as 19-year-old Ladaibrien Acker of Waveland.

During the investigation, police learned a female had been shot in the arm and released from the hospital.
