One dead after accident on Highway 53

One person is dead following a single vehicle accident in Harrison County this morning.

The accident happened around 8:30 on Highway 53 near Lizana School Road. The victim was traveling down Highway 53 when the vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene and no one else was in the car.

Mississippi Highway Patrol, Harrison County Fire Services, and the CRTC all responded to the scene.
