U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson finished second in the 2024 Olympics women’s 100-meter finals, losing to Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia.

Two-time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica abruptly pulled out of the women’s 100-meter dash, giving no immediate reason for withdrawing.
