Olive Garden Gives Free Lunch to Police
You could say appreciation tasted good for D’Iberville police working this Labor Day.
A group of D’Iberville police officers on duty for the holiday enjoyed some free food from Olive Garden this afternoon. Olive Garden employees say they wanted to thank the officers for keeping our community safe. The Olive Garden supplied the D’Iberville police with a spread of spaghetti, breadsticks and salad.
D’Iberville Patrol Officer Shaunta Ballard tells News 25 that in the wake of the recent violence against police, the community seems to be reaching out to their local law enforcement a lot more lately, something he’s appreciative of. “It makes the job worthwhile. A lot of people may have been down about the situation. By the end of the day, we still have a job to do and having a good community to back us helps a lot.”
Olive Garden employees tell News 25 they have been providing complimentary lunch for members of law enforcement on Labor Day for years.
