Ole Miss staying positive amidst 2017 postseason ban

Three possible months remain for Ole Miss to meet the NCAA Committee on infractions. Those months are August, October, and December.
According to the NCAA’s website, the meeting will take place during a weekend and this kind of meeting is usually on the second weekend of the month.
Meeting aside, the Rebels have already self-imposed a post-season ban for 2017 and that thought alone could be demoralizing. However, former Rebel and New York Giants rookie tight end Evan Engram says the ban will have an opposite effect. “I’ve never seen a team more hungry. I’ve been trying to keep up with them as much as I can through coaches and social media and stuff and their mindset right now is unbelievable with the circumstances we have so definitely it’s tough, definitely for seniors coming back but I know they’re going to be taking control of that locker room and they’re going to make every game count. I don’t think it’s as bad as people think it will be. I think it’s motivating them to have a big year.”
In his college football preview magazine, Phil Steele predicts the Rebels will finish in a tie for fifth in the SEC West this season.
