Ole Miss sets program record 826 yards of total offense

The Bulldogs weren’t the only ones trying to bounce back from a loss as Ole Miss put on a show at home with a 70-21 victory against Louisiana Monroe.

The Rebels unleashed an offensive clinic on the Warhawks with a program record 826 yards in total offense. Ole Miss put up 517 yards through the air with no interceptions and 309 yards on the ground without a turnover.

Jordan Ta’Amu was 21 for 24 for 374 yards, accounting for five touchdowns including a 62 yard bomb to D.K. Metcalf. Ta’Amu was responsible for 437 yards before sitting out in the second half.

Once he was done for the day, freshman quarterback Matt Corral had some time to shine going a perfect 10 for 10 with two passing touchdowns. Ole Miss Head Coach Matt Luke said, “It felt like we were really efficient in what we did, a lot of good decisions. You can tell with not many incompletions, making good decisions and getting the ball in the right spot. So, I thought that was good. Defensively, I thought it was good to get some guys some reps, and get the depth going. It was good to get Armani and Tylen over there, given the injury situation. I thought that was good. And again, having some tackles for loss, and getting some turnovers, I thought that was really good.”

The Rebels are set for an SEC West matchup this week, hitting the road to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
