Ole Miss self imposes one year postseason ban
The Ole Miss football team has announced it will self-impose a one year postseason ban for 2017 after an NCAA investigation uncovered 21 allegations of violations made by the football program.
Among the violations found by the NCAA is a lack of institutional control, a charge which the school plans to fight, according to Ole Miss Chancellor Jeffrey Vitter, Vice Chancellor of Athletics Ross Bjork and head football Coach Hugh Freeze.
The Rebels will be home for the holidays this winter.
The Rebels will also forfeit its annual SEC postseason money which is approximately $7.8 million as per league rules.
