Ole Miss Rebels players continue to shine as day three of Senior Bowl practice wraps up with all focus shifting to Saturday’s game
Day three of practices at the Reese’s Senior Bowl has wrapped up at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, AL.
Some players shined and others struggled throughout the week of practices, but everything can change on Saturday. Ole Miss has been a standout program in Mobile with former players that accepted their invite. All of which are looking forward to the opportunity of having another strong performance when game time rolls around this weekend.
“First off, really looking forward to Saturday, it has been a great week,” former Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart said. “I had a ton of fun. I was really looking forward to it and it has meant the world to me to be with these players and these coaches as well.”
“Oh yeah I am excited, for sure, for the game,” former Ole Miss defensive end Princely Umanmielen said. “we have been going against our teammates in practice so I am excited to finally go against somebody new in the game on Saturday.”
It says a lot about the talent that was in the Ole Miss program last season that they continue to perform at a high-level against others in the Senior Bowl. Maybe none more than Jaxson Dart, who is part of a loaded quarterback room in Mobile.
“I feel like I have just stacked days,” Dart said. “I feel like I have played consistently and that is one thing that I really wanted to show. I wanted to show that people that I was a complete player, can make adjustments each and every day and continue to excel.”
Former Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard says they are all looking to be the best version of themselves.
“I think the biggest thing that I have learned from being in a room with Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Seth Henigan is that we are all just dudes rooting for each other,” said Leonard. “We said at the beginning of the week that we aren’t competing against each other, we are competing against the best version of ourselves. If we just play our game and try to reach our full potential then that’s enough.”
Although they are not competing against one another, it is a performance based week, and we will see on Saturday who looks the best as the Senior Bowl game kicks off at 1:30 P.M CST.
