Ole Miss looking to end five game losing streak to Crimson Tide
For a couple of years from 2014 to 2015, Ole Miss was the problem Alabama simply couldn’t solve and that was with Lane Kiffin on the Crimson Tide coaching staff.
The Rebels being responsible for Bama’s only two regular season losses during Kiffin’s three-year run in Tuscaloosa.
The Tide have since won five straight, but Ole Miss held its own in last year’s 63-48 shootout.
After a week four bye, the Rebels still lead the entire country in total offense and scoring offense, but it’s the Tide that enters Saturday’s game as a 14.5-point favorite, their 85th consecutive game as the favorite.
Coach Kiffin said, “I don’t see any holes in this team. And kind of like I said or referred to with free agency, if they did have them at receiver or linebacker, they filled them. So, it’ll be very challenging, not just to play them, but to play there. If you think about it, we’ve really never played in front of a crowd in two years because of COVID to go to a true road game, so that brings challenges on its own, and so we’ll have our hands full. I’m sure that’s why we’re a huge underdog for a reason.”
Ole Miss and Alabama will kick things off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
