Ole Miss hires Mike Macintyre as new defensive coordinator
Even without a bowl game to look forward to, the Ole Miss football program is making waves in December.
Today, Gulfport native Matt Luke announced the hiring of former Colorado head man Mike Macintyre, who won consensus National Coach of the Year in 2016, but was fired last month. He’ll be taking over for Wesley McGriff who was let go following an uninspiring loss to Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
Luke and Macintyre served two previous stints together as assistants at Duke and with the Rebels.
On the offensive side of the ball, Ole Miss is home to a pair of All-Americans with AJ Brown and Greg Little both getting tabbed earlier today. Brown getting the nod for the second straight season.
