Ole Miss football hitting the road for first time in 2022

The Ole Miss football program had the second-ranked transfer class during this off-season and it showed during the Rebels’ 59-3 demolition of Central Arkansas on Saturday.

Their 11 straight wins at the Vaught are now tied for the nation’s sixth longest home winning streak, but now it is time to take the show on the road.

Ole Miss is going up against a Georgia Tech program that hasn’t won consecutive games since 2018, but the Rebels are still undecided at starting quarterback between Luke Altmyer and Jaxson Dart.

Whoever gets the nod, they’ll be surrounded by what Coach Kiffin refers to as the best collection of talent he’s had during his three years in Oxford. “Outside of Luke’s short run, every touchdown run, every touchdown pass, every touchdown reception, every return for a touchdown and every kick was made by a portal player from this off-season, so that’s a lot of guys doing right for 59 points. I’ve said all along, this transfer thing, there’s good and bad. Everything is new. So now we’ve got to go on the road with all these guys that have never been on the road with us and the challenges that come with that, so it’ll be a very big test for us.”

The Rebels have allowed 13 points through two games, their fewest since 1991. Ole Miss and Georgia Tech get the ball rolling at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
