Ole Miss football faces off against Troy Saturday

It’s a busy week one Saturday for college football in the Magnolia State.

Starting at 3 p.m. with Ole Miss hosting Troy, followed by Southern Miss rolling out the welcome mat for Liberty and former Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze at 6 p.m. Mississippi State giving a big welcome to Memphis at 6:30 p.m.

Rebels coming off their first ten-win regular season in program history and looking for more of the same in year three of the Lane Kiffin era. Head Coach Lane Kiffin said, “This statement may surprise you. It probably would’ve surprised me if I would’ve said it a long time ago. But I look at it as, you go around town, there’s so much excitement about the program, season ticket sales, everything. But I feel like I needed Oxford and Ole Miss a lot more than it needed me. And so, I enjoy it here. It’s been awesome. And it’s been really cool. Now we’ve got to take off from last year and rebuild like we have and now go perform on game days and keep our home winning streak alive. I don’t know the stats, but it’s got to be one of the longer ones around.”

Rebels are winners of nine straight home games, good for seventh best in the nation.
