Ole Miss commit/ Gautier alum Kaden Irving throws out first pitch at Shuckers game

It was a beautiful afternoon at MGM Park as fans filled the stands for game three and a local Coast guy who is used to Friday Night Lights had the opportunity to kick things off.

Gautier High School alum Kaden Irving is dominant on both the diamond and the gridiron and in January 2020, he made the verbal decision of pursuing baseball after high school by signing with 2022 World Series Champs Ole Miss.

By the look of his confidence on the mound and the perfect strike, he made the right decision, but if we’re being honest, he’d have a successful collegiate career no matter which sport he chose.

Now, ultimately, summer is a time for students to take a step back and relax after a long school year, but not for Irving.

Not only is he hard at work preparing for his career in Oxford, but he’s also staying hopeful for the upcoming MLB Draft. “You know I’m just enjoying every moment as I can. Taking it day by day and letting God take control of it. The best thing I can do. Just knowing that I can still play the game I love no matter if it’s at Ole Miss or if God blesses me to get drafted this year, I’m just going to be playing the game of baseball and it’s going to be fun.”

The MLB Draft will begin Sunday, July 9th and will continue through Tuesday, July 11th.
