Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art celebrates George Ohr’s 168th birthday

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art is kicking off its annual Ohr Birthday Bash this weekend, honoring the life and legacy of the “Mad Potter of Biloxi.”

Attendees can try their hand at pottery, or buy from local artisans and vendors. Pieces created within the museum will also be available for purchase. Robert Harrison says this event gives the community a chance to remember Ohr’s global influence in ceramics, and of course, his legacy built on the Gulf Coast.

The celebration will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday and close out at 4 p.m.. The museum is hoping to attract more than 600 visitors at the event celebrating George Ohr’s 168th birthday.
