Ohio State defeats Notre Dame 34-23 to claim their ninth National Championship in program history
On Monday the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Notre Dame fighting Irish 34-23 to win their ninth national championship in program history.
OSU as led by quarterback Will Howard who threw for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Howard set a college football playoff record for consecutive completions to begin a national championship game with 13. He finished the game 17-or-21.
Former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. He also found the endzone once through the air as he hauled in two catches for 21 yards and a score.
The Buckeyes claim the first-ever national title under the new 12-team college football playoff format.
