Officials execute search and arrest warrants after incident involving school bus and fire arms in Moss Point

Moss Point police investigators, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Emergency Service Unit, executed a felony search warrant and multiple arrest warrants in Moss Point.

These warrants were issued in connection with two alarming incidents that occurred on the afternoon of August 23rd, 2024.

The first incident involved a female suspect who used a vehicle to block a school bus. Shortly after, an armed male suspect attempted to confront the bus, which was carrying children at the time.

The situation escalated when officers were called to Kreole Elementary School by a concerned parent who reported seeing the man with a handgun in his vehicle.

Investigators have confirmed that both incidents were by the same suspect, 23-year-old Edwin Eugene White and the female suspect 40-year-old Jacinta Kendral McPherson.

According to school officials, White was armed with what they describe as an assault style weapon during the school bus incident and displayed a hand gun in the vehicle at the elementary school,

White has been charged with felony simple assault against a school official (bus driver.) He is currently being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bond set at this time.

McPherson has been charged with interference with the operation of a school bus. She was released on a signature bond.
