Officials break ground on new Popps Ferry Road project

Work has officially begun on the extension of Popp’s Ferry Road in Biloxi with the goal of alleviating traffic congestion.

Approximately one and a half miles of four-lane boulevard will be constructed.

This project also includes new signalized intersections, construction of a new Mississippi Coast Coliseum access road as well as the installation of a gated rail crossing, roadway lighting, and sidewalks.

The $20.8 million contract was awarded to Necaise Brothers Construction and is estimated to be complete by the end of 2026.
