Officials break ground on Marriot Hotel in Waveland

Waveland city leaders cut the ribbon a new Marriot Town Place Suites Tuesday.

Construction is expected to start soon with the hotel expected to be compete by late 2025 or early 2026.

Waveland Mayor Jay Trapani says the project should bring good changes to the city. “It’s an exciting time in Waveland, it’s a beautiful day to be breaking ground out here. Even in the rain. This $16 million project is going to change the whole face of Highway 90. I think you’ll see more commercial development in this area because of the hotel.”

Mayor Trapani went on to say the goal of this new hotel is to bring more tourism to visit Hancock County.
