Officer McKeithen honored across the country
Support has been overflowing from the community as seen by the growing monument on Officer McKeithen’s patrol car and now it is coming from all over the U.S. A wreath from the New York Yankees popped up recently showing their support for Biloxi’s boys in blue.
But, the New York Yankees aren’t the only baseball players honoring McKeithen. Last night, the Ocean Springs Yankees, a four and five-year-old t-ball team, drew the officer’s badge number, 126, on their arms and wore eye black to pay respects to the fallen officer. Coach Heathe Warner said, “It’s a good way to teach them something, not only on the field, but off the field as well. You know, they do have a future where there is no violence and hate and we can be able to make that future better for them.”
