Officer involved shooting in Woolmarket update

Blue lights penetrated the darkness last night after an officer involved shooting at the Mazalea Travel Park in Woolmarket. For many, it started out as a normal night at home, but that all changed with a single sound.
Police acted on a tip that Allen Douglas Hale II, 33, had been staying with his mother, Hazel, at the RV Park. When officers arrived to arrest him on an outstanding felony charge, officers say Hale became “belligerent” and was ultimately shot by police.
Sandy Clark, the manager of Mazalea Travel Park said the following. “We have not had anything like this happen before; we have a very quiet park, where everyone is like a family".
Last night’s officer involved shooting occurred at the front steps of a Southwind RV and came as quite a shock to the residents of a normally quiet RV park, and to people who knew the young man personally.
"All of a sudden I heard a bam, and I knew it was a gunshot so I got up, got a flashlight and went to my next door neighbor’s to find out what was going on. When I got over there, I saw her son laying on the ground. He had been shot," said neighbor Joseph Richard.
Since it was a Biloxi officer that pulled the trigger, the case is now being investigated through the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, and the Gulfport Crime Unit. Authorities aren’t the only ones looking for answers.
Richard said “she asked them, “Why did y’all shoot my son?” I heard her and no reply…”
