October is Fire Safety Month

October is fire safety month. Do you and your family have an emergency fire escape plan? According to Liberty Mutual Insurance, one half of Americans do not have an emergency fire escape plan and one in three have never developed or practiced one. This month, you and your family are urged to develop and practice your family escape drill. The National Safety Council urges families to plan for two ways to escape from each room and to pick a family meeting place outside where everyone can meet. Parents are also urged to talk with their children about how to call 911.
