Ocean Springs Teen Invited to Join All-American Band

Monday, an Ocean Springs High School senior was invited to join the prestigious U.S. Army All-American Marching Band in San Antonio, Texas.

Senior, Landon Grigsby, is one of only a handful of students hand-selected from across the country to play in the All-American football game next year. Grigsby is a trumpet performer. He tells News 25 the process of being selected is painstaking and he spent months practicing for the audition.

Grigsby says, “I’d say it’s really emotional and a stress reliever for me sometimes ‘cause music can be really stressful with all the competition and stuff, so just sitting at home and practicing can help a lot with that. It’s a really great thing to just wake up every morning and then just go and do something that you love to do all day and that’s just what you do for the rest of your life.”

Grigsby will play with the All- American Marching Band this January in Texas.
