Ocean Springs residents gather for town hall on annexation plans

Neighbors in Ocean Springs as well as city officials discussed the city’s annexation plans.

Guests gathered inside the Fountain-Bleu Community Center earlier this evening to voice any possible concerns they had on the annexation plans.

The court date for those plans is scheduled for April 13th.

The plans were approved in December and they will annex two parcels of land in the area.

This will bring Ocean Springs High School in the city limits. The plans would also add about 1,500 people to the city. District 5 Supervisor Randy Bosarge said, “The county has taken the position with them that we will oppose it and we did hire an attorney to represent the county and the opposition for the court dates that are coming up, and we’re just gonna do everything that we can do to try to help our citizens not be annexed.”
