Ocean Springs Police make arrest in armed robbery case from August
Ocean Springs Police on Monday arrested a Gulfport man in connection with an armed robbery investigation.
Joshua Shelby, 40, of Gulfport was developed as a suspect. He was arrested and charged in the armed robbery. Shelby was taken to the Jackson County jail to await a preliminary hearing. His bond was set at $250,000.
Police were called the scene of an armed robbery on August 13, 2019, at the Dollar General on Government Street.
According to police, the suspect entered the business, brandished a firearm and demanded money. Then he fled the scene with an undisclosed amount.
The suspect was described as a black male, about 6 feet tall and about 240 pounds. He was wearing black or gray pants and a gray hoodie. His face was concealed with a mask.
