Ocean Springs police believe Sunday night shooting was accidental

Ocean Springs police say Sunday night’s shooting in a downtown parking lot was likely accidental.

According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, police haven’t found any evidence the shooting was related to those series of shooting earlier in the night in Biloxi.

Instead, police say the 22-year-old man from D’Iberville may have accidentally shot himself in the leg. The shooting happened around 9:30 Sunday night in a parking lot along Desoto Avenue.

Ocean Springs police are continuing to go through surveillance video to see exactly what happened.
