Ocean Springs PD warns of scam targeting residents

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WXXV)- In Ocean Springs, the police department says residents are receiving calls from a Sgt. Jacobs claiming to be a warrant officer.

This person tries to convince people they have a warrant and may try to obtain personal information or payment.

The department wants to let everyone know there is no Sgt. Jacobs employed by them.

All residents are advised not to give out any personal information and never send money.

Residents should hang up immediately and report the call to the Ocean Springs Police Department.
