Ocean Springs Municipal Library reopens
The Ocean Springs Municipal Library has reopened after a year-long renovation.
The library closed up shop nearly a year ago for the work.
Jackson County helped fund the repairs, which include a new roof, H-VAC system, and new information desks.
On top of the high-priority repairs, the library also has new ADA accessible bathrooms, a maker’s space, and a re-arranging of the floor plan that makes it more accessible for patrons. Branch Manager Yvonne Parton said, “So, all of these repairs were needed in one way or another and I believe that our patrons, when they came in today, were so excited to see how bright and light and wide open the library is. It just really has been a great experience, I think for them, but especially for us.”
The library will host an official grand opening next month on September 6th.
