Ocean Springs mayor’s opponent says he did not steal signs

The debate continues over who stole 50 of Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran’s campaign signs.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Moran wrote that her “opponent’s petty thieves” were behind the stunt. During an interview yesterday, the mayor told News 25 signs were stolen from her own yard, her mother’s yard, as well as several streets throughout the city.
Her opponent, mayoral candidate Shea Dobson, says he knows nothing about the stolen signs and tells News 25 Mayor Moran is quote “playing the victim.” “I’m focused on my signs and getting my signs out and working hard and a lot of the residents of Ocean Springs have seen me out. The residents of Ocean Springs have had enough of her antics and she’s playing damage control. This is nothing new to me. She’s a typical politician that is scared that someone who’s never been in public office before is going to knock out an incumbent seeking her fourth term at power. She’s desperate to hold on to power. That’s all this is,” said Dobson.
Mayor Moran tells News 25 the Ocean Springs police are looking into who stole the signs.
