Ocean Springs mayor gives updates at Breakfast with Mayor event

This morning, Ocean Springs Mayor Kenny Holloway talked to local residents and businesses at Breakfast with Mayor.

The quarterly event took place at the Lady May restaurant and was hosted by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Holloway gave updates on the city infrastructure and parks and recreation latest operations.

The hot topic of the morning was the proposed $23 million front beach marina and event space development plan as the mayor lays out the phases on the development project. Mayor Holloway said, “Well the parking area then the event center, and then the proposed marina would come third. So, it’s just a process we’re trying to, to do all this stuff where there’s no debt on it. It’s debt free. So that’s takes a little bit of time to accumulate those funds. We don’t want to burden the taxpayers with debt on some of the things we feel like we can we can get accomplished debt free.”

Currently, there is no timetable on the proposed marina and event space.
