Ocean Springs Mayor Elect shares plans for city
Ocean Springs Mayor Elect Shea Dobson says the overall culture of Ocean Springs is going to be drastically changed.
Today, Dobson stopped by WXXV to explain the plans he has for the city. He says there’s several new faces with four new members of the board of alderman as well as himself as the soon to be mayor.
Dobson says throughout his campaign he wants to go back to the basics with the budget, working with MDOT, and economic development. “I’m going to make sure we have a sound budget. I’m going to make sure that I work with some projects in particular. I want to work with MDOT to make sure that whenever we do widen our highway that it’s done responsibly. We have a good plan with the businesses, economic development on the east side of town and really throughout the entire city and just grow our tax base and do everything we can to have a business friendly community.”
When asked about taking on the role of mayor at just 31-years-old, Dobson says he sees it as an asset and understands where the economy and culture is going and knows where the direction of the city needs to go.
