Ocean Springs mayor discusses city roadways at Breakfast with the Mayor

Ocean Springs Mayor Kenny Holloway talked with residents this morning about the city’s roadways in a chamber sponsored breakfast at Azteca’s Restaurant and Cantina.

Holloway talked about the traffic plan for downtown which includes street parking and a planned parking garage.

He touched on the Fayard property purchase and what plans the city has, including an open-air pavilion and some green space.

He also addressed the issue of whether the intersection at Ocean Springs Road and Highway 90 has become too congested to be safe.

This question came in the wake of a fatal accident over the weekend that claimed the lives of two New Orleans women. Mayor Holloway said, “We are on a three-year plan for widening Highway 90. We met with MDOT about two months ago and in Ocean Springs to Gautier, that widening project is on the books to happen sometime or start sometime in the next three years.”

He also updated residents on construction of the Aldi Grocery store and the First Bank Building.
