Ocean Springs man proposes with the help of CJ the Dolphin at IMMS

When an Ocean Springs man decided to propose to his girlfriend, he enlisted the help of a slippery friend.

CJ the Dolphin was a big help during one of the live shows Saturday morning at the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies in Gulfport.

CJ swam up to the couple with a message printed on his toy. Kyle Simpson then got down on one knee and proposed, his girlfriend Carli said yes.

When asked when they planned to get married, Kyle told News 25 as soon as possible. “I’ve been working on it for about three months. I’ve had to come up here multiple times and train with the dolphins with Mr. Moby and the trainers. We had to get by the buoy and they had to train the dolphins to bring the buoy and everything. It was a really cool experience. They let me feed them, touch them, yeah, all that cool stuff.”

News 25 wishes the couple a happy engagement.
