An Ocean Springs man is accused of firing into a crowd during a Fourth of July party.

Ocean Springs Police Chief Ryan Lemaire said 68-year-old Henry Andray is charged with our counts of aggravated assault. He was taken to the Jackson County jail and bond was set at $1 million.

Lemaire said neighbors on Cumberland Road were hosting a party for the Fourth of July and had started setting off fireworks after dark.

One person who attended said it was a family celebration.

Andray shot a shotgun into the crowd gathered to watch the fireworks three times, striking at least seven people and sending four to the hospital.

Lemaire said Andray refused to give a statement to police. He could face more charges as the investigation continues.
