Ocean Springs investigating separate armed robberies
Ocean Springs Police are investigating separate armed robberies this week.
On Sunday, officers responded to an armed robbery at Circle K on Bienville Boulevard.
The suspect entered the store about 2:55 a.m., implied he had a weapon and demanded money. Once he received the money, he fled, but an employee followed the suspect into the parking lot and demanded the money back.
Police said the suspect returned the money and then left in a vehicle. That vehicle was stopped, the suspect identified and arrested.
Justin Edwards of Ocean Springs has been charged with armed robbery and his bond was set at $100,000. He is being held a the Jackson County jail.
On Monday, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery just before 10 p.m. at the Dollar General on Government Street.
The suspect, police said, entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money, then left the scene.
He is described as a white male with a slender build, about 5-foot-9. His face was covered with a mask.
